The course is divided into one
introductory
general session in which I
describe in detail how to build a
proctology practice, from the procedure
room layout to the equipments you need,
to the techniques I use for local
anesthesia and sedation, to the position
of patient and surgeon and staff, to the
postoperative care and follow up and
instructions. I
show every thing I am talking about,
live, in film, being performed on the
patient and I show
several examples on each little step, so
there will be no question in your mind
on how we do things.
For the four most common
presentations in proctology, I show the
surgical set you need, the equipment we
use and the settings of each equipment
and how to care for it…even the
sterilization techniques we use to clean
our equipments and procedure room are
described in length.
After this introductory session, you
will find four separate sessions on the
specific surgical techniques used for
each of the four presentations:
- Hemorrhoids, all types and degrees.
- Pilonidal Cyst.
- Peri-anal fistula.
- Anal Fissure.
For each one of these cases, you will
watch an at least 10 to 20 live
procedures , in high resolution , clear
, close up video with me commenting live
on every little step I am doing.
At the end of each session you will
find a summary of the steps used in the
surgical treatment of each of these
conditions and a discussion of the
results, any possible complications and
the postoperative care and appropriate
follow up of these patients.
I do believe that our final product,
makes things so clear that even the
Internist or Family Practitioner with
little surgical interest can do most of
these procedures with ease, or at the
very least, can extract from it what
he/she feels comfortable in doing,
feeling more confident in knowing and
watching, up close and personal, what
surgeons do in these cases.
In choosing the appropriate media to
publish this course, we decided that we
should keep the requirements to minimum,
so all you need to have is a
computer
with a DVD playing capability and Windows Media Player
all of which come standards on most
physicians’ computers.
You will have the ability to play,
pause, stop or slow down any video
session you’re watching…print any
screen...listen to comments on your
computer speakers or headphones, and
advance the slide show at your own speed
by the click of a button on your
keyboard.
In total you will have five DVDs to
watch, one introductory DVD, and four
specific cases DVDs,
which include in
total two hundred live cases and about
fifty pictures and one hundred slides.
For each of the four most common
procedure performed in proctology you
will see at least 10 to 20 live Video
cases being performed real time in front
of you, leaving you with no doubt as to
how things should be done. |
